Pinzgauer of America

In the early 80s, Steyr-Daimler-Puch tried to market a civilian Gas Pinzgauer version in the United States. It was fitted with a revised engine with 2.7 l displacement and a Bosch K-Jetronic intake-manifold fuel
injection system. Optionally, a turbo charged verson of the same engine was available.
As can be seen in the pictures, interior and exterior also underwent design changes to gain some attractiveness.
Sadly, the "Pinzgauer of America" project finally failed due to the high price level of the vehicle, which was not accepted by the customers.
