Puch G Montana

The Puch G "Montana" was introduced at the Geneva International Motor Show in 1987 as an off-road vehicle with high-end equipment for the Swiss market. The idea of the Swiss importer was to avoid the discussion of the long list of optional equipment with all customers who were looking for a sophisticated vehicle equipment.

A competition was held in the Swiss import company and in the Swiss Geländewagen Club to find a suitable name for the special model. Eventually, "Montana" was chosen following the FIS Alpine World Ski Championships 1987 in Crans-Montana in January 1987, where the Swiss host team won eight gold medals out of ten (thanks to Peter Käser for the information).
